About Me

Afroz Algiers (She/Her)
Hi there, and welcome!
Here is the official version to reassure you with legitimacy-lending degrees. If you want the heart-centered version about my personal motivation to do this work, jump here to my blog.
As an Expressive Arts Therapy Practitioner (ExAT-P), I have post-graduate level training in counselling psychology as well as the therapeutic use of art, music, drama, and dance. Art-making naturally relieves stress and is also a tool for self-reflection and personal growth(see more about how this works).
I have travelled an unusual path across India, the United States, and Europe, diving into engineering, management, design, social sciences, the performing arts, community organizing, sourdough baking, meditation, and psychology. Together, these experiences shape the holistic, culturally attuned, and interdisciplinary approach I bring to you.
Qualifications
- Post Graduate Diploma Expressive Arts Therapy (ExAT-P), 2025
St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai - Certificat d’Aptitude Professionelle (CAP) Boulanger, 2020
Paris, France - IGNITE Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program, Stanford Graduate School of Business, 2016
Stanford University, California, USA - MS in Sustainable Design & Construction, 2014
Stanford University, California, USA - B.Tech Civil Engineering, 2012 SASTRA University
My Therapeutic Style
My job is to make it easy for you to encounter your thoughts, feelings, and sensations through art.
You are the expert on your life—I accompany you, nurturing your self-trust and inner wisdom rather than providing ready-made answers. Art making can be fun and joyful, but the blank page or unfamiliar materials can also bring up fear, anger, or grief as we travel into the unknown. I support you with gentle prompts to stay connected to what arises with compassion. In this way, art helps us practise moving through the uncertainty we inevitably face in life.

Who I Work Well With
I work especially well with caregivers, thinkers, creatives, and meditators, but honestly, art-making for self-connection is meant for everyone. I’m a good fit if you are looking for playful exploration in a supportive environment. If you are looking for clinical diagnosis and treatment, advice, or an expert opinion on how you should live your life, then, sadly, your search must continue on 🙂
I speak English, French, Hindi, Malayalam, and Beary. I’m rusty, but if you need it, I would be happy to brush up on – Tamil, Telugu, Spanish, and French Sign Language.
